Chris Marshall was born in London in 1947 and developed a passion for both science and literature from an early age. He attended Kilburn Grammar School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
His academic journey continued with doctoral research into the gastric hormone Cholecystokinin, culminating in a PhD from the University of St Andrews in 1979. Shortly after completing his doctorate, the idea for his novel When Evil Calls first emerged, and the original manuscript was written between 1980 and 1981.
After being unable to find a publisher, the manuscript was set aside for many years before being rediscovered in 2015. Recognizing how much the world had changed, particularly in technology and communication, Chris extensively revised and expanded the story, transforming it into the novel available today.
Alongside his writing career, Chris spent decades working in computer programming and information systems across several respected institutions, including Charing Cross Hospital, the Royal London Dental Institute, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and University College London.
Now retired, Chris enjoys reading, gardening, singing, travelling, and spending time with his family. His writing reflects a unique blend of scientific knowledge, imagination, and spiritual insight, creating stories that entertain while encouraging readers to think beyond the ordinary.
